alabama deer season is getting close and for us bowhunters its even closer. we wanna know where the right spot is to sit on opening morning, well here is a few pointers for the gun hunter :The very best spots for the opening day of gun season may well be completely void of deer sign. Sign in most cases on opening morning doesn't matter. Terrain matters. Find the most logical route to thick cover you can hunt. Then sit there. As I said, this ain't bowhunting. This is gun hunting and the pressure will impact what deer do. When the guns start booming, deer start moving. And they will move to the place with the most security and they'll get there the fastest, most secure way possible. Anything that funnels deer into cover and isn't in the wide open is a great place to be on the opener. You don't need to see long distances -- fields are the very worst places to sit on the opener. No respectable buck in his right mind is going to be traipsing across a field, or atleaast in most cases we all know we can get lucky, But that's just my opinion and we all have our own. now if your just hunting for does or to put some meat on the table go right to that bright green food plot and bust you a fat nanny but for the swamp daddy bucks think like he would and take cover!!!
